The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, explained on the television program Opinion that the opposition voted in principle for the agreement with the United States on the “Board of Peace,” but did not vote for the inclusion of Edi Rama’s name.

During the debate with guests in the studio, Berisha also clarified the Democratic Party’s position regarding U.S. initiatives.

“It was approved in principle because I want to say that, throughout our time in power, there was a clear instruction to Albania’s representatives in all international institutions: on security issues, you vote as the United States votes.

We voted for the agreement in principle.

But when the vote was taken article by article, we did not vote for Edi Rama.

We approved the document in principle, not article by article. We told Edi Rama, you tarnish, you disgrace. He was sitting next to ‘the Witch’ (referring to Minister Belinda Balluku), and we told him that she would take him down with her.

Our position was pro-Albania, even though Rama and Lukashenko personalized the invitation. Invitations are sent to countries,” said Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha during the Opinion interview.
