As Albania grapples with widespread flooding, with entire cities such as Durrës, Lezha, and Shkodra submerged, Prime Minister Edi Rama has drawn criticism for posting videos of snow-covered Llogara Mountain on social media. The floods are a consequence of years of mismanagement, failed investments, and the collapse of the drainage system.
Hundreds of businesses and families have been left vulnerable, with homes and economic activities underwater, while state support remains absent. Water pumps are non-functional, drainage channels are blocked, and government interventions have largely been superficial or propagandistic.
Every time it rains, flooding turns into a recurring disaster, while those responsible remain silent. Instead of providing emergency response, assisting citizens, and taking responsibility, the prime minister opts for social media posts disconnected from the harsh reality faced by thousands of Albanian families.
The causes are clear and repetitive: a complete lack of vision, misappropriation of public funds, and criminal negligence toward the country’s vital infrastructure.
