Berisha: Trump and Secretary Rubio’s Message on Cartel Fight Encourages Saving Albanians from Current Regime

The leader of Albania’s Democratic Party (PD), Sali Berisha, emphasized in his speech that Prime Minister Edi Rama’s ties to drug cartels are now indisputable. He claimed that those present at meetings with Rama, including beneficiaries of casino and hotel licenses, demonstrate the government’s direct cooperation with criminal organizations.

Berisha highlighted that charter flights from Tirana to Aruba, where cartel bosses convened, are among the clearest evidence of this collaboration. He noted that messages from U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the fight against cartels provide a significant encouragement for the Albanian opposition in their efforts to rescue citizens and the country from a regime rooted in drugs and crime.

According to Berisha, this international support strengthens the Democratic Party’s commitment to fighting the narcostate and establishing justice and security for Albanians.

“Edi Rama’s links to drug cartels are now indisputable. Those whom President Trump has labeled terrorist organizations, such as Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, have attended meetings with Rama and benefited from casino and hotel licenses.

Furthermore, the charter flight from Tirana to Aruba with government officials, potentially including Rama, although I lack precise information, to meet with cartel bosses is the clearest proof of Rama’s direct cooperation with drug cartels.

I want to tell you that Ergys Agasi has become famous worldwide, and in this context, I believe the congratulatory messages from Secretary Rubio and President Trump address the most fundamental problem we face today as a nation: drugs, crime, and the fight against them. This represents an encouragement in our major effort to save Albanians from this regime built on drugs and crime.”
