In the city of Vlora, thousands of citizens gathered today to celebrate Independence Day, November 28. The atmosphere is festive and warm, as families, young people, and the elderly have come together to take part in the events and activities dedicated to this historic date.
The city’s main square is filled with people from every neighborhood of Vlora, as well as from nearby towns and villages, reflecting the strong connection and pride felt for this important day in Albania’s history.
The Flag Day celebration brought together Albania’s highest state leaders, as well as those from Kosovo. President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, and Mayor Brunilda Mersini attended the flag-raising ceremony in Vlora.
At Flag Square, wreaths of flowers were laid in a gesture of respect, while top state officials bowed before the memorial, as today marks the 113th anniversary of Albania’s independence.
After the national anthem was played, all attendees walked along the red carpet. Amid the crowd, national flags and patriotic symbols were on display as citizens expressed their joy and respect for the events that led to the country’s independence.
The celebrations are expected to continue throughout the day with official ceremonies, concerts, and cultural activities in honor of Albania’s heritage.
