Opposition leader Sali Berisha has reacted to the unusually long meeting between Edi Rama and Belinda Balluku, revealing several of the topics reportedly discussed.
FULL STATEMENT
What were the issues behind the 7-hour Rama–Balluku meeting?
Friends, it is difficult to fully decipher yesterday’s seven-hour talks between Rama and Harpy in the prime minister’s office.
But one thing is certain: according to “the walls with ears,” the exchanges were extremely tense, filled with mutual threats and more. Among the topics discussed were:
1. Balluku’s request to delay the implementation of the decision by 72 hours, something Rama refused to take responsibility for, while “Uluziu’s” phone calls had no effect.
2. Harpy’s demand that the Council of Ministers, not she personally, be the one to address the Constitutional Court to request the suspension of the SPAK decision.
3. Halting the media lynching choir against Harpy in outlets controlled by Rama, with Top Channel leading the charge.
These were some of the conditions set by Harpy in order to keep from opening her heart to the party’s SPAK and presenting documents showing that the Llogara tunnel and Vlora airport were carried out exactly under Edi Rama’s direct orders.
The role of “Uluziu” remains unclear, as he was summoned as a witness to the political breakdown and the seven hours of verbal clashes between Rama and Balluku.
