Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha says the opposition will not halt its protests until Prime Minister Edi Rama leaves office.

In an interview on the TV program Opinion, Berisha stated that the Democratic Party has now entered a season of sustained protests, which he said will intensify in the coming period.

Berisha: “The elections were stolen, blatantly seized. But they were not defended, nor were they called out as they should have been. In these elections, the Democratic Party did something extraordinary in legal terms. It now has the constitutional right to confront this regime in order to restore the free vote. This protest will end only when Edi Rama leaves power. This type of protest will be a kind of civic parliamentary forum. Since our MPs are not allowed to speak in Parliament, they will come to speak in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, and so will the citizens. Preparations will continue for major, sustained protests. Every Democrat must be ready; we have entered a season of uninterrupted and continuous protests until the regime is overturned.”
