The opposition rally, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., is expected to bring citizens together to denounce what it describes as the Rama government’s corruption scandals, including the latest investigation involving the Llogara Tunnel project.
Under the slogan “Protest,” the Democratic Party is urging citizens to join them on November 17 at 6:00 p.m. outside the Prime Minister’s Office, referred to by the party as the “nest” of crime and corruption, where shady deals and major graft schemes are allegedly struck at the expense of Albanian families and their finances.
“For the family, the economy, and democracy” is the call the DP is making to Albanians to mobilize against what it labels a “narco-government” holding the country and its citizens hostage.
Most opposition parties, as well as civil society representatives, have joined the DP’s call for public action.
DP leader Sali Berisha said the initiative aims to create space for the opposition and revive political debate:
“Tomorrow, the Democratic Party takes its most important step against the narco-parliament controlled by ‘Ramaduro.’ The start of the parliamentary platform in front of the Prime Minister’s Office! This is the only alternative left, since Parliament approves the government, its program, and the budget without any debate! Under conditions where the opposition is allowed to speak only once in nine parliamentary sessions,” Berisha wrote yesterday on social media.
