The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has delivered a scathing reaction to the composition of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s new cabinet, describing it as a dangerous blend of George Soros’s network and figures linked to organized crime.

In a lengthy statement, Berisha listed the names of new ministers and key appointees, whom he accused of involvement in corruption scandals, drug cartels, and clientelist networks. He also accused Rama of deliberately excluding regions that did not vote for him, dragging the country into what he called a “pure narco-mafia regime.”

Excerpts from Berisha’s statement:

“Pirro Vengu is a full-fledged member of the Troplini cartel, because under his directorship the cartel had complete control. Vengu opened the doors for drug billions to flow into Durrës under the guise of Alalabari.

He has appointed Mirela Kumbaro, who is impossible to tell when she’s drunk and when she’s speaking normally, the woman who destroyed all of Albania’s protected areas.

Elisa Spiropali as Foreign Minister, that post has never been made more laughable than it is now.

Niko Peleshi has multiple corruption files in SPAK.

This is the final, funeral cabinet of the narco-dictatorship, and we will make every effort to bring its days to an end as soon as possible.

When I saw how people in Nepal lived, their clothes cost ten times less than the luxury flaunted by Balluku, Spiropali, and their clique, parading with Hermès bags and belts worth a fortune.

Delina Brahimi has been entrusted with the narco-economy. She is another loyal servant of the drug economy.

Blendi Gonxhe is one of the most professional thieves in this country, utterly unscrupulous. A member of the ’Ndrangheta through his work in the municipality, together with Mazniku.

He built a Formula 1 track with over €200 million of taxpayers’ money. Yet they refuse to build the Elbasan bypass, which would save the people of Elbasan and the entire southeast time and suffering.

They refuse to build the Lezhë–Shkodër or Milot–Lezhë highways, the second busiest road in Albania after the Nation’s Road, and instead pour money elsewhere. Apart from Tirana’s expansion and the Elbasan bypass, this road should have been an absolute priority. But Rama doesn’t care; he considers those people enemies simply because they didn’t vote for him.

We are faced with a mixed cabinet, mafiosi, people with no connection to Albania, representatives of George Soros, and organized crime figures.

They even brought in Toni Gogu. What is he doing in government? His name will come up again in future revelations.

I believe it could not have been otherwise than what has happened.”
