The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, emphasized that “any court that is controlled by the prosecutor who sends the case will receive the same treatment from the opposition.”
“Any court that is controlled by the prosecutor who sends the case will be treated the same by us. The solution is the creation of judicial panels that are outside their control,” Berisha stated after appearing at SPAK, where he is complying with a court-imposed obligation to report.
Berisha: According to me? No, according to you.
No, we need to be on the same page here.
They’re being controlled...
Now, let me be clear, this has nothing to do with any individual judge personally.
This is about a principle that exists nowhere else in the world except in Albania: that a judge who receives a case file is under surveillance, their correspondence and phone are monitored, by the very prosecutor who submits that file.
This is unacceptable.
This kind of justice, I’m not even sure existed under dictatorship.
But this is absolutely in violation of every principle.
Of course, I will fight this to the very end. This is not just for me personally, but for an international principle of justice for every Albanian citizen.
No one should be outside legal oversight.
But today, only one group is outside the law, a group of SPAK officials who, with official documents, are covering up the monstrous crimes of prosecutors working here.
And I will bring here all the evidence, all of Eriona Dautaj’s testimonies (from the BKH), every conversation she has had with key figures in SPAK.
Like when Altin Troplini called someone and said, “You handled the file of Ymer Lala, accused of murder, you asked him 19 questions and not a single one about the murder?” And the guy shut his mouth.
Because that was the “treatment” he gave.
Another person brought up the case of Altin Hajri, allegedly, this guy took €700,000 for it. I don’t know, that’s what they say. He’s directly accused of it.
And finally, the most outrageous act, the amnesty he gave to Elvis Doçi, the boss of the Troplini cartel.
He held on to the arrest warrant, the one the court signed after keeping it for two months, in his own pocket.
And today, Doçi is still at home because he has the protection of Altin Troplini.
So, any court under the control of the prosecutor sending the case will receive the same treatment from us.
Yes, they will make these decisions, but the solution is to create judicial panels outside their control.
Because they control the Special Court, not the Tirana Court.
But this will go to the international court in Strasbourg, it will be a main issue at the Council of Europe, and of course, they will face public disgrace for that statement, naturally.
