The Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) has challenged publicly Premier Edi Rama and the Socialist Party (PS), declaring a total confrontation and the goal to become the first political force and govern alone after the elections.

Secretary General of LSI Luan Rama said that his party, “especially in Tirana, is an equal force with the Socialist Party”.

“We compete against PS for the first place in Tirana, Durrës and Fier, while we are absolutely in the first place in the counties of Elbasan and Gjirokastër.  Our challenge is the engagement for a new leadership of the government, with LSI as a first force”, Rama said.

LSI has been in the government since 2009, first in a coalition with the Democratic Party and then with PS. However, Rama underlined LSI has never been in the lead.

"We have been in the government with both PD and PS, as a guarantee of the stability, of the normal functioning of the country’s institutions, but also as a prophylaxis against arrogance, presumptuousness and abuse of the governments. We never had the lead of the governments, so our offer is for LSI as a first force”.
