Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha protested against the protracted investigation of the Albanian authorities over the murder of Joy Aoko, 22, the Kenyan young woman that died after being brutally murdered in the capital Tirana. She was found unconscious last August, outside the place she lived, and died after a few months in intensive care.

Berisha repeated his accusations against the Albanian government, saying it hides the killer and added the prosecution is doing everything to tamper with evidence to protect the real killer.

The former Prime Minister also appealed to the Kenyan government to report the case to the UN Human Rights Commission.

“Joy Aoko's killers are kept hidden by the government.

Dear friends, a group of criminal officials within the police, prosecutor’s office, and others, have done everything to manipulate any investigative evidence to protect the real killer of 22-year-old Kenyan Joy Aoko”, Berisha wrote on his Facebook page.

“They continue on this path by questioning and detaining various people and leaking investigations only to hide her killer because he is connected to the government. I appeal to the Government of Kenya to present the case of their citizen to the UN Commission on Human Rights because the Albanian authorities are hiding the criminal”.
