Albanian Premier Edi Rama intensified his attacks on the Prestige Resort after a report of the US Department of State criticized the demolition of the main building of the seaside resort last year. The resort’s owner Irfan Hysenbelliu is also a media magnate, whose television channel and newspapers have criticized Rama’s government.

Immediately after DOS report, Rama requested the confiscation of the remained buildings, saying they will be put at the Social Service disposal.

Without a court order and in a day off on the occasion of the religious Nevruz Day festivities, numerous police forces raided the resort, meanwhile an official of the Social Service showed the real face of Rama’s regime when she said she was not interested in a court order.

“I am here to do my job. You must allow me to do my job. I am the director of the institution, of the Development Center to which the building has been given. That suspension has been rejected. You go ahead with the court, we will do our job. I have no comment. The official notification has been made. I am here to do my job and take the buildings under our administration. This is not violence”, she said.

The attorney of the Hysenbelliu Group, Erion Kanxheri, said the police are violating the law because there is no order from the court to empty the premises.
