Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha accused UK Ambassador to Tirana Alastair King-Smith of tarnishing Berisha’s image with slanders and lying to the UK Government.

“Corruption has been used to fight who denounces corruption more than others. Governor Kim (US Ambassador Yuri Kim – Syri) goes from one meeting to another saying ‘we have facts, but we don’t tell them’; her chief Escobar went to Sokol Balla’s (show on TV) and said ‘we have facts and we’ll make them public’, but a few months later speaking for the Voice of America he appealed for finding facts”, said Berisha, referring to baseless decision of US Secretary of State Blinken to designate him on the grounds of significant corruption.

“So, they have no facts. What I said from day one was proved 100 percent, when I wrote to Antony Blinken that his decision was based on the corruptive lobbying of Edi Rama and George Soros. This is the truth”.

“Alastair King-Smith has deceived his government in a terrible way based on corruption, but UK is transparent. British authorities do not say ‘we have facts but we don’t tell them’. They have an official, legal channel to follow the case”.

“I have found out and I will make everything public to Albanians in the due time. The Albanians will see what low disinformation Ambassador Alastair King-Smith sent to his government”.

“An Ambassador like Alastair Smith-King entitles himself to say ‘this persons has ties with criminals’ because of someone I have never known. He does that because he shares favors with Edi Rama and (Tirana Mayor) Erion Veliaj. I told him and I repeat it again today, he has acted secretly, I act openly. I will unmask and expose him, because like that I will defend the dignity of the UK Government too”.
