The Democratic Party condemned the attack of the government on Prestige Resort in Durrës as a personal vendetta of Premier Edi Rama against its owner Irfan Hysenbelliu, also a media owner.
Speaking on the television News 24, Democratic Party secretary for the public relations Jola Hysaj said the demolition of the resort with regular papers is a huge blow to the Albanian tourism and Rama’s intention is shutting media’s mouth.
“This is the second attack on the resort. The Albanian Prime Minister has censored the media. What he is doing today is censorship. This is a mobster message sent not only to News 24, BalkanWeb or (Albania’s biggest daily newspaper) Panorama, but to all the media. Anyone who speaks against Premier Rama will be sent for reeducation, this is Rama’s only way to shut up mouths”, said Hysaj.
