Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha condemned the demolition of the seafront Prestige Resort in Durrës, saying it is a Premier Edi Rama’s personal vendetta against owner Irfan Hysenbelliu. Berisha said the demolition of the resort with regular permit is an act of revenge against the critical position of Hysenbelliu’s media. He added Rama and his deputy Balluku will pay for all the damage.

“I’d like to condemn strongly Edi Rama’s criminal act, his primitive, shameful, unlawful, anti-Constitutional revenge against the assets of businessman Irfan Hysenbelliu, who is also a media owner”, Berisha told media reporters today.

“I ensure you, everything you see there is nothing but Edi Rama’s wild and primitive vendetta for the position Hysenbelliu’s media have held in the communication with the Albanian citizens”.

Berisha also showed an official document of 2017 proving that the resort was being constructed with a permit based on a decision of the Council of Ministers.

“This is an ugly act of a mentally sick man, of a person that represents darkness, the deepest archaism in revenge in the day when a statesman of a great country is visiting our country”, said Berisha, referring to the visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Albania.

Berisha warned it will be Albanian taxpayers that will pay for Rama’s hate, as it was the case of the Agon Channel and other cases that the Albanian state lost in the International Court of Arbitration.
