Albanian Premier Edi Rama announced today that the new energy prices will not be applied as of October 1 as it was previously planned.

“Our energy resources depend on rainfall. Our hydroelectric power system fully meets 75% of our energy needs. We are moving according to the plan to meet 100% of the country's needs. But we cannot meet all the needs at the moment and we will continue to enter the international market where all European countries are hit by high prices. The government and I are here to protect the prices and do everything to ease the factual and psychological burden of the war and the inflation it brought on us”, said Rama.

“I am here to tell you I have good news. In the last few days, we have had an improvement in the level in Fierza and we expect the forecasts for other rainfall to materialize. In these conditions, based on a detailed analysis as well as full commitment in order to take advantage of every opportunity that arises, we decided that the application of the 800 KWH band will not come into effect in the month of October".
