Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha had a meeting with teachers and pre-university education experts, where the problems of the education sector were discussed. The former Prime Minister accused Edi Rama’s government of dismissing teachers after spying their posts on the social media. Berisha underlined that the Albanian schools do not have a proper infrastructure.

He added that former minister of Reconstruction Arben Ahmetaj and head of the Socialist parliamentary group Taulant Balla have extorted taxes from Albanian citizens and are connected to criminal organizations.

He also accused Tirana’s Mayor Erion Veliaj of building schools more expensively and out of standards. According to the former Prime Minister, Veliaj has built schools with cost up to €2.2 million when the same schools in EU cost only €620,000.

Berisha promised that once the Democratic Party wins the elections laws with the education in focus will be adopted.

The Democrat leader Berisha called on teachers and education experts to join the mission of restoring the free voting in the country.
