A phone call without answer. Albanian citizens rallied outside the prime ministry in the capital Tirana tried to call Premier Edi Rama and request him to fire the Minister of the Interior Bledi Çuçi and Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro which they hold as the main responsible persons for the death of the seven-year-old girl Jonada Avdia.

Jonada was killed by a speedboat driven by an off-duty police commissioner in a beach in the Albanian Riviera, only four meters from the shore, as she was playing with her father.

“Is any held accountable in this country? We will continue to demand justice for Jonada. We will start a petition in the whole country to demand from the Prime Minister to fire Kumbaro and Çuçi. We are doing this also for other Jonadas”, said a family relative.

The protesters also rallied outside the Ministry of the Interior, calling for justice and painting the walls with red paint, symbolizing the blood in the state police hands.
