Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha said prosecutors that questioned him regarding the January protest at the Democratic Party headquarters frowned every time he mentioned Premier Edi Rama. Berisha told media reporters the prosecutors’ behavior was normal but they did not like hearing Rama’s name.
“Their behavior was normal, however I could see that in the moments against Rama in my statement they did not like it, frowned, but still I had to say what I had to say. This is a process and I will make their trial”, Berisha told media reporters after leaving the Prosecution Office today.
The former Prime Minister expressed his lack of trust in the new organs of justice, saying they cannot investigate the government’s corruption. “They are sections of the party”, said Berisha.
