Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha talked to media reporters immediately after leaving Tirana’s Prosecution Office today where he was questioned over his role in the January 8 protest at the Democratic Party headquarters. Berisha said January 8 was the clearest and the most flagrant proof of links of politics to crime.

“You understand it, of course, I was summoned here per Medusa’s order, but I came out of respect for the principles with which I was brought up”, Berisha said, repeating what he said before entering the Prosecution Office that he was summoned by Premier Edi Rama’s order, to which he referred as Medusa.

“In my statement, I highlighted that for every Albanian, for every friend and partner of Albania, the most ugly thing, the most unimaginable act, the most criminal act in the history of the last 30 years, the proof of flagrant links of politics to crime was watching Lulzim Basha surrounded by a gang of murderers, traffickers, abductors, and fundamentalists”, Berisha told media reporters.

“That was the most dramatic moment and flagrant evidence of the narco-state and politician linked with crime merged into one”.

The former Prime Minister said the Democratic Party will deliver information on the group of murderers and mercenaries, adding that their real names have been posted on his Facebook page.

“Another issue I put forward was: how is it possible the same weapons used by the narco-police were also used by Basha’s gang? You sawed that. It’s another testimony of collaboration of mercenaries and the narco-bandits with uniforms. The weapons were taken out of the headquarters on board of Basha’s car, however there is evidence of armed persons inside the headquarters. There pictures, but not only that. So, no one doubts today about the existence of the mercenaries group consisting of murderers, traffickers, and fundamentalists as Lulzim Basha’s guardians”.
