Former Albanian President Bujar Nishani called for Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha’s resignation following the expulsion of Sali Berisha from the Democrat parliamentary group until the Correctional Court of Paris gives a verdict on Berisha’s lawsuit against US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

Invited on Çim Peka LIVE on Syri TV, Nishani said Basha has violated the party’s electoral process and must step down from his post.

“Basha had no right to expel Berisha without being based on rules. Basha won Democrats’ votes with Berisha in the (electoral) list. He expelled Berisha without respecting any of the rules, practically he violated the electoral process”, Nishani said.

“Which forum took the decision? Basha must step down today, he is no longer legitimate at the helm of the Democratic Party”.
