Democratic Party Lulzim Basha promised today his government shall double the teachers' salaries. He made his promise in a meeting with Durrës residents where they talked about problems and worries with infrastructure, lack of health personnel and lack of teachers in the schools area.

"We promised to double teachers' salaries, whereas the other side said it could not be done. It hasn’t been done because they did not do it; it is not done because they do not want to do it. They’ve been the government for eight years and never cared for the teachers until right before the campaign start. We will continue to increase teachers' salaries as a key part of the public spending policy of the next government", Basha said.

He repeated the same promise for health personnel, saying preventing doctors from leaving the country will be an absolute priority.
