Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha gave an interview to News 24, where he spoke about his book “My Mission”, which hit the book stores this week. Talking to host Nisida Tufa, the Democrat leader revealed literature has been his passion since childhood and always wanted to become a writer in the adulthood.

“I have always been passionate about literature and at a very young age, inspired by the presence of writers in close family circle, I told myself I would become a writer, because I loved reading, I loved literature. However, the reality of political life, the rhythm of the day, weeks, months of the year is such that I did not have time to write down my thoughts in a book. So in a way it was a bad thing that happened to all of us that gave me the opportunity to come back to this idea with the hope and the intention to put on paper a dimension that in everyday political communication denies. The very noise of politics in particular, the antagonism, the constant political conflict, the unstoppable flow of events make impossible a dimension of deep reflection that the book actually made possible and taking advantage as I said of a period unfortunately not good for us, as was the period of the pandemic. But at some point, especially in the first months of quarantine left room for a deeper reflection than the daily, weekly or monthly, I decided to start this project which fortunately has ended and today is in the hands of the publisher”, Basha said.

“I hope the book will be a window through which the citizens will understand the way I have seen politics from the first day of engaging in it… as a mission, as a mission that conquers your whole being that becomes an integral part of existence that motivates you, makes you strong in difficult moments to make great personal and family sacrifices”.
