Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Lulzim Basha denounced the lack of doctors in Albania as one of the most serious failures of Premier Edi Rama, which is costing dearly to the country in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

Basha said Albania has only 12 doctors per 10,000 thousand inhabitants, leaving behind only Africa and India.

"What is the number of doctors per 10,000 inhabitants in Albania? 12 or 23? It is 12 doctors per 10,000 inhabitants", Basha said, quoting WHO via the Monitor magazine: “Albania among the countries with the lowest number of doctors in the world, we are before only Africa and India."
