Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met today with representative of big businesses in the industrial area between Tirana and Durrës, to talk about his economic plan and how to soften the effects of the pandemic crisis. Basha said the health catastrophe the whole country is experiencing and economic crisis could have been prevented had the government paid attention to a plan that the Democratic Party presented last September to support citizens and businesses for a period of several months.

“Today we are in a moment of deep economic crisis. There is no doubt that the pandemic has its effects, but this crisis started before the pandemic and is the result of the total lack of any support or supportive policy from this government to business. On the other hand, a series of coercive and wrong policies by the government has brought a decline in production and employment”, Basha said.

“Not to mention then how the pandemic was administered or mismanaged. In health terms it is a total disaster. In this moment, Tirana and all Albania have turned into a big hot spot where people are trying to be treated at home, because the hospitals are full; into a place where health care is being paid from people's pockets.
