EU Ambassador to Albania Luigi Soreca repeated the message to party leaders for clean lists of candidates prior to the April 25 elections.

Soreca said the party leaders have legal and moral responsibility for lists with candidates with standards and integrity.

“Discussions like today’s are essential to guide voters and candidates in the democratic process. I am looking forward to see political parties engaging with the CSO’s recommendations and not let today’s very healthy democratic initiative go unheeded. Integrity of April 25 elections is determined on Election Day and before. Party leaders have a legal and moral responsibility to ensure candidate lists with the highest integrity standards. Albania deserves legislators who will support EU reform agenda of fight against corruption and organized crime”, Soreca tweeted after a forum organized CoPlan and supported by EU mission in Albania.
