Albania needs today more hope than ever, appealed today Albanian President Ilir Meta as he underlined that brain drain of the country must stop.

The Head of State informed that 92 percent of medicine students, 79 percent of economics students and 64 percent of pedagogy students want to leave their homeland.

“From Albania want to depart: 92 % of Medicine students, 79 % of Economics students and 64 % of Pedagogy students. Youth needs hope and trust”, underlined President Meta.

On Friday, the President appealed for action and thinking about Albanians as he highlighted that the country is ranked first in Europe when it comes to citizens who seek economic asylum.

Albania leaves behind even the countries that have just gotten out of war and civil conflicts, added President Meta while stressing that “an Albanian today feels more hopeless than a Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan”.

Anti-poverty combat, elimination of monopolies, cancellation of corruptive concessions and tangible increase of salaries stop depopulation, as far as the Head of State is concerned.
