Albanian President Ilir Meta comment Premier Edi Rama’s statements against EU for not helping the Western Balkans countries with anti-Covid vaccines.
Speaking in “Kjo Javë” on News 24, the Head of said EU has made efforts for our country just like for any other Western Balkans country, but Albania is last concerning the support offered to its healthcare system and economy during the pandemic.
“It is like blaming EU for not opening the negotiations when EU has told us long ago which the conditions are. We will always blame someone else, because we never assume responsibilities”, Meta told host Nisida Tufa.
Asked for a message to the citizens since it was his first interview for the year 2021, the President said that the Albanian citizens must assume more responsibilities.
“They must hold accountable the irresponsible politicians that have blocked the country’s development, have damaged the economic and social situation of the Albanian families; have put in question the country’s future, the public and national interests. Every citizen should understand they are the change and change begins with their participation in the April 25 elections”, Meta said.
He added that the restore of the constitutional order and a functional rule of law are his priorities for the new year.
