The mother of Enea Ftoi, the Egyptian community man who has been dubbed as the Albanian George Floyd following his death by police violence in Korça, was invited to Çim Peka Live on Syri TV.

She said her son was tortured barbarically by police and even had his tongue cut. She showed the pictures of violence, saying “the state is killing us”.

According to her, Enea was threatened in the detention cell too, but the security cameras were switched off when the grave incident happened.

“Where have they taken my son’s shoes and jacked with blood spots, why wasn’t the forensic expertise done? They closed the doors in front of us anywhere we went to. We were not given explanations, we were told he was sick”, she said, adding that she learnt about her son’s death when she was in the court.

“With this government, my son’s murder will never be unveiled. This is a government of thieves and criminals”.

Enea Ftoi, 27, was arrested for stealing a necklace and was beaten ever since the moment of arrest. After his death, there protests from the members of Egyptian community in Korça.
