Former Foreign Minister Besnik Mustafaj said Bledi Çuçi’s selection as Interior Minister is a strategy by Edi Rama to keep State Police under control for the elections of April 25 2021.
Mustafaj told ABC News that Rama will have a soft person in the ministry, who will obey and put the police at the Prime Minister’s disposal.
“Sandër Lleshaj wouldn’t do that. We do not lack the laws to punish the offenders, but we lack the exercising of the competences given by the law”, Mustafaj said.
“Police here take orders from the politics. Rama returned from the United States and the police got wilder”.
