Albanian President Ilir Meta was adamant to his belief that any idea for borders correction is terrible. Meta was asked about a previous declaration that Albanian Premier Edi Rama is the mind behind the idea of land swap between Kosovo and Serbia during the joint press conference with Kosovo’s acting President Vjosa Osmani. The President responded that anyone that acts differently would bring back the criminal past in the Balkans.

“My position has been and is clear that any idea of border correction in the Balkans is terrible. As Ms. Osmani said too. It has been proven to be a criminal idea that brings genocide, destruction, enmity, extraordinary harm, and depopulation”, Meta said.

“The only way it the EU integration and respecting the minorities and their rights. This is and will always be my clear position. Anyone that is publically or informally against this approach makes a policy that is not in the service of the Albanian politics and in the interest of the national politics, and brings back the criminal past in the Balkans through these ideas”.
