The parliamentary Commission of Security rejected today Albanian President Ilir Meta’s decree on the changes of the Law on State Police.

Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj said the police are outside political parties and held in higher esteem than the parties by the public.

Now the draft must pass at the Commission of Laws and then in the parliament to be re-voted. Meta refused to decree the changes of the Law because it entitled the police to survey the political opponents of the government.
