Albanian President Ilir Meta has returned to the parliament the changes to the Electoral Code, voted only by Premier Edi Rama’s Socialist majority.

Ever since the voting of October 5, Meta warned he would not decree the new Electoral Code and would return it for revision to the parliament, passing from words to facts today.

In his decision, Meta explained the changes to the Electoral Code violate the citizens’ right to vote and be elected, as well as the equality of the vote.
