Albanian Premier Edi Rama insulted President of the Republic Ilir Meta in the parliament today, saying he “does not have the moral and mental capacity to refrain himself”. Rama was responding to MP Rudina Hajdari, which was blocking the parliament pulpit, insisting for the interruption of the parliamentary session where the changes to the Electoral Code would be voted. Rama said such a language does not suit to a mother, a lady, and MP.

However, the Prime Minister said Hajdari was taking a negative example from President Meta, who could not refrain himself even in the presence of a foreign representative by his side.

Rama was referring to Meta’s strong declarations during the joint press conference with the President of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“I have no problem with your attacks, I am used to the original, I’m not impressed by the copycats. I heard a lady here using a language that a woman, a mother, an MP cannot have. But what could I put on this lady when the most negative example is given today by the President who doesn’t have the moral and mental capacity to refrain himself at least when he has a foreign representative by his side”, Rama said.
