The Parliament of Albania is among only a few parliaments that did not create a surveying and investigative committee for the pandemics situation in the country, did not monitor the impact of the normative acts, and never called into interpellation the Minister of Health during the Covid-19 crisis. This is a conclusion of the Institute for Political Studies (ISP) that monitored the Albanian parliament during the pandemic period.
During that period, the parliamentary activity was done mainly online and the parliament deserves appreciation for the fast adaptation to the new circumstances. However, the Parliament gave the impression it could not fulfill its constitutional responsibilities concerning the parliamentary control over the executive power, being among the few parliaments that did not create a surveying and investigative committee for the pandemics situation in the country, did not monitor the impact of the normative acts, and never called into interpellation the Minister of Health during the Covid-19 crisis, ISP said.
