Albanian Premier Edi Rama did not give any declaration about the election’s date he proposed to President Ilir Meta, but it is understood he didn’t make a concrete proposal to Meta either.

Sources from the media that are attending Meta’s meetings for the date of the election said Rama did not have a specific date in mind, but he said he would accept any date that the President would decree, except May 2, 2021, which is the Easter day.

Up to today, the majority had thought of May 18, 2021 as the elections day, whereas the opposition had pushed for a month earlier, on April 18.
