The meeting of Albanian President Ilir Meta with Premier Edi Rama lasted no longer than ten minutes. The President had invited Rama to meet and propose a date for the next year’s general elections. After the meeting, the Prime Minister left without speaking to the media reporters.
In a video message, Meta showed how he started his conversation with Rama: “I started consults about the elections date, with the intention of helping as much as possible for an all-inclusive process, not that the setting of the date has a significant importance, but to respect any sensibility or other calendars, like the official holidays. In that aspect, I would be interested to hear your opinion as a representative of the Socialist Party and the majority”.
