The Albanian United Opposition held a press conference only a few minutes after the parliament with 122 MPs voted in favor of changing unilaterally the Constitution of Albania, with the intention of favoring Premier Edi Rama in the coming elections.

Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha said no machination can stop the change that Albanians want.

“Today, Albania’s half-parliament proved it is not guided by the citizens’ interests, but it acts like Edi Rama’s lackey, serving to his political interests”, Basha said.

“They did not accept our proposal of opening the lists 100%. Never before has the Constitution been modified unilaterally. Rama’s latest act shows that his time is ending. Today’s act cannot stop the change”.
