Agim Kajmaku, former Mayor of Vora, was arrested two days by Tirana police only to be released today. The Appeal Court of Tirana decided to change the security measure from remanded in custody to house arrest.

Kajmaku was a fugitive for the last eight months following an arrest warrant from the Court of Tirana. He is charged with documents forgery and was fired from his post as Vora’s Mayor after it was discovered he had hidden his criminal past in Greece, where he was arrested with another alias over banknotes forgery. Kajmaku was arrested in a private hospital in Tirana, after his attorney called the police.

It seems now it all has been arranged and he was released after the prosecutor Arta Marku requested to change the security measure to house arrest. Marku has been appointed appeal prosecutor after her period as temporary General Prosecutor of the Republic.
