The Democratic Party has reacted after Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj’s threats to the media. Former Democrat MP Albana Vokshi said in a press release that “Veliaj is using Mafioso methods against the media. He’s using certain state segments to shut the mouth of the radio-television Ora News”.

She added that every official involved by Veliaj in the attacks against the journalists and the owner of Ora News will be held responsible.

“Erion Veliaj has turned into one of the most dangerous politicians for the freedom of media. In the phones of any critical reporter or media owner there is an intimidating or threatening message from Veliaj”, Vokshi said.
