Democratic Party (PD) legal representative Ivi Kaso said in an interview with Syri TV today that the electoral reform in Albania has turned into the word of the day “maybe not because of the international pressure only, but on account of the commitment shown by the Albanian opposition, which has been articulating for a long time the need for a deep electoral reform that will address the main issues of the elections”.

“The deadline of May 31 is an ambitious one that, if used truthfully and intensively, as it is expected, may produce solutions”, Kaso said.

“I’m not saying consensus, because it is a big word, but it may produce solutions to several essential issues of the reform that lie on the table of the Political Council. They are issues related to the electoral process in particular, which in the recent years has been taken hostage by Edi Rama and his majority”.
