Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met today with US Ambassador Yuri Kim to talk about the current situation in Albania. After the meeting, the Ambassador and Basha spoke to media reporters.

Ms Kimi said her meeting with Basha was focused on the future, not on the past.

“We just had a very important meeting and I was happy to meet the chairman of the opposition Lulzim Basha”, Kim said. “Our talk was focused on the future, not on the past. We talked about the importance of the Albanian leaders meeting the people’s expectations to conclude the electoral reform till May 31. This is not a deadline decided by the US Embassy or any other external factor. It’s a deadline decided by the leaders. The opposition has a difficult job ahead, but I feel encouraged by the meeting”.
