Secretary for Legal Issues in the Democratic Party (PD) Çlirim Gjata told the moments when the police raided the National Theater building to take out the actors and activists that were there to protect the Theater from the demolition. Gjata said police put machine guns to the head of director Robert Budina.
"They put machine guns to Robert Budina’s head. A part of the activists went up to the terrace when the digger started to pull down the façade. There were still people inside, police effectives too, when the demolition started. This must be investigated b y the Prosecution”, Gjata said. “In January 21, 2011 there were four prosecutors investigating at the prime ministry and the next (then Prosecutor General) Ina Rama had all the commanding chain of the National Guard arrested, she blew up the entire State. SPAK is not doing this, it’s a shame. This is the new justice”.
Gjata also said police exercised violence on Muslim believers within the theater that were having Suhur, because they were fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
“It was 4 in the morning, when the Muslim believers have the Suhur. The police raided when they were having Suhur, they were dragged away by the police while still eating, with the food in the mouth”.
