Former Albanian President and Premier Sali Berisha has denounced what he calls a “huge scandal” after the police brutality against actors, politicians, media reporters, and citizens that protested against the demolition of the National Theater, pulled down by the government to make way for the construction of a new theater and commercial towers.

Berisha denounced the erasure of the identity numbers of the police effectives that were engaged against the rally.

“After erasing the identity numbers, they unleash them like wild beasts against the peaceful protesters. This is the narco-state, an enemy of the citizens”, Berisha wrote on his Facebook page.
