Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met today the representatives of the Small Business Association to talk about the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Basha expressed Democratic Party’s and his support for the small business, saying all the attention should be on them now.  He blamed Premier Edi Rama for the dramatic situation of the small business, which he compared to an “economic pandemic”.

“All the government’s attention is at the oligarchs, not at the people or the business, especially the small business. But the small business is the fulcrum of the Albanian economy, it’s the base of the Albanian economy and it has the biggest number of the self-employed in this sector”, Basha said, adding that it needs today more than ever to receive back in the form of financial aid the tax money it has paid in years.

“A clear package of measures is needed for the gradual opening, following the protocol of safety, but it should be an opening just not to pay the businesses. If the businesses open but the consumers are not allowed to go there, the situation will get worse and hopeless”, said Basha.
