Kruja is the new coronavirus hot spot in Albania as 18 new cases were confirmed in the small town north of the capital Tirana. The citizens rushed to the markets to buy groceries in case of an eventual tougher lockdown.

They have held the government responsible for allowing the sewing factories stay open despite the high risk of infection.

A citizen complained speaking for ABC News: “The factories are all open in Kruja. That’s the source of infection”.

Police have strengthened the measures, meanwhile two teams of epidemiologists continue to track other suspected cases.
