The Democratic Party (PD) declared today the abandonment of the Albanian nationals abroad by the government is both “irresponsible and crimanal”.

“All the Albanian nationals must be brought home as a Constitutional obligation of the government”, the Democrat Secretary for Foreign Affairs Arben Kashahu said in a press release.

“Hundreds of Albanian nationals are not allowed to renter the Albanian territory, despite not having any obstacle by the Montenegrin or Greek authorities”, Kashahu said.

"The shutdown of air, sea and land borders as a precaution against the coronavirus spread cannot serve as an excuse to abandon Albanian citizens who were stuck unprepared in foreign countries. It is unlawful and absurd not to allow Albanian citizens to enter their homeland, to return to their homes, to go to their children or parents. From the information gathered by PD, the overwhelming majority has been kept in the cold, without food or aid from their government. This is irrensponsible, this is criminal”.
