Kosovo's incumbent Premier Albin Kurti said after a meeting with President Hashim Thaçi he had asked the President to set a date for the new general elections.

“First we talked about the government measures to slow down the spread of Covid-19. We responded to the President's efforts to talk about a new government and new candidatures that we cannot ignore Article 82. 2 of the Constitution which determines that after the vote of no-confidence what remains is going to the new elections”, said Kurti, quoted by the Kosovo daily Koha. He added the President “promised to respect the Constitution, the law and the earlier practices, and we all know what the earlier practices are”.
