The Albanian parliament has suspended the plenary sessions till a second notice as a precaution against the coronavirus in the country. There are 12 cases so far, mainly in the capital Tirana.

The suspension is valid only for the sessions, whereas the work in the parliamentary commissions will continue normally.

Earlier this week, head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group Taulant Balla said the parliament would continue its work normally, despite the government’s decision to suspend massive activities in the country. However, two days later the ruling majority has decided against the parliamentary sessions and working only in the parliamentary commissions.
