The Democratic Party (PD) supported President Ilir Meta’s decision to reject and return to the parliament the anti-constitutional changes to the law on the members of the Constitutional Court. Secretary for Legal Affairs in PD, Çlirim Gjata, said the President’s act was “the right one, in defense of the Constitution and the public interest from the country’s Prime Minister personal corruptive interests”.

“The law that privatizes the Constitutional Court by Edi Rama has been returned by the President of the Republic, who acted rightfully in defense of the Constitution. The Democratic Party supports the return of the law that would give Edi Rama total control of the state and notes the fall of democracy and the rule of law”.
